A curator of "Calligraphy - the Word as art "
Joanna is a graduate of Japanese studies and over the years she has been promoting Japanese culture in Poland. After graduating her doctorate at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, she now works as an Assistant Professor at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology. She has published two individual works – translation and preface to „The Sakuteiki or Records of Garden Making”, and „Re-thinking beauty. The aesthetics of Japanese calligraphy”. She is also author of multiple scientific publications in collective works. For seven years she has been practicing Japanese calligraphy and she has achieved the rank of the third dan at Seifū school.
She teaches workshops of Japanese and Latin calligraphy and medieval illuminated manuscripts.
Her works have been presented at numerous solo and collective exhibitions.
