PPNT Gdynia | Design Centre in cooperation with the Faculty of Architecture and Design invites you to this unique exhibition for the seventh time!
The exhibition of selected diploma projects of the Faculty of Architecture and Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk is a distinction in a limited contest organised by PPNT Gdynia | Design Centre.
The main aim of the contest is to promote the creativity of young talented designers shaping the Tri-City design identity. The selection of projects is the joint voice of two opinion-forming centres: PPNT Gdynia | Design Centre and the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. The originality and inventiveness are assessed, this year the organisers focus even more on the quality of the presented projects and their exhibition attractiveness straight from the Academy of Fine Arts.
Every year two persons from PPNT Gdynia | Design Centre are invited to the competition jury, two persons from the Faculty of Architecture and Design and one external expert. This year the Composition Jury is composed of:

The Faculty of Architecture and Design is the largest faculty of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. It offers three fields of study: Design, Interior Design and Architecture of Cultural Space. It has one of the most comprehensive offers for students of design courses in the country, which is confirmed by entrance exams. It is the place appreciated both in the country, as well as abroad, which can be clearly seen in the growing interest of students from other countries.
A large diversity is noticeable especially in the major of design, where apart from strong theoretical foundations, students have access to seven different courses: Vessel Design, Ergonomic Design, Product Design, Mass-produced Furniture Course, Experimental Design Course, Visual Communication Course.
Architecture is divided into two majors: Interior Design and Architecture of Cultural Space. In these fields of study we can see different approaches to design - from more urban planning solutions, through focusing on furniture designs, to interior design. Every year over 130 defences of bachelor's and master's degree diplomas take place in this department.
The exhibition of diploma projects is an opportunity to present them to a wide audience for the first time. Only 20 projects are qualified for the exhibition, so participation in it is a distinction. From among the qualified projects, the jury selects two projects whose authors will participate in Dutch Design Week.
The award ceremony in the Academy of Fine Arts diplomas: Architecture and Design 2019 contest will take place on the 6th of July - during the opening of Gdynia Design Days 2019 festival.
The team organising the exhibition: Daria Bolewicka, Marcin Kasprowicz, Adrian Leszczuk.
