curator of "egg" exhibition
An artist, designer and technologist. Rep of the generation of ceramists for whom the technological process in ceramics is deliberately and consciously disrupted by the designer in order to achieve a form displaying the relationship between process and performance. Graduate of the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce, where he majored in art. For many years Marek Cecuła’s close assistant, under whose keen eye Szwed broadened his knowledge of ceramics by observing Modus Design, as well as being present during the forming of Design Centrum Kielce and the Ćmielów Design Studio. Currently, he is the head of the ceramics department at School of Form for the Domestic Design specialization.
In the design milieu, Szwed is recognized for works such as People of the Porcelain Factory/ “The Human Trace”, Coral, or Waterlove, which have among others been exhibited at Łódź Design Festival, Gdynia Design Days, Design March in Reykjavík, Designblock in Prague, Victoria and Albert Musieum in London, or the Triennial Unicum in Slovenia.
